Om je nieuwe VPS in gebruik te kunnen nemen moet je in eerste instantie via de console toegang tot je VPS hebben. Ook bij het rebooten van je VPS kan het nuttig zijn om een oogje in het zeil te houden via de console. Je bereikt de console van je VPS door met ssh
in te loggen op de console server van Soleus:
ssh username@console.soleus.nu
Hierbij gebruik je de ssh key die je eerder aan Soleus hebt doorgegeven voor toegang.
Je komt dan terecht in de xen-shell,
waarin je het commando help
kunt gebruiken om een overzicht te krijgen van de beschikbare commando's. Met het commando console
wordt je direct verbonden met de console van je VPS. Die verbinding kun je op elk gewenst moment weer verbreken via de escape sequence control+]. En je verlaat de xen-shell
met het commando exit.

In order to start using your new VPS you will first need access to the VPS via its console. Also when rebooting your VPS it can be handy to keep an eye on things via this console. You can reach the console of your VPS by logging in with ssh
on the Soleus console server:
ssh username@console.soleus.nu
For this login you'll need the ssh key which you provided earlier to Soleus for access. After logging in you will enter thexen-shell.
Use the commandhelp
to get an overview of the commands available. The commandconsole
will immediately connect you to the console of your VPS. You can terminate that connection at any moment with the escape sequence control+]. And you can leave thexen-shell
with theexit
command.
